Letter 18:05 (Her Summer Lightning)

Start by turning up the heat.   (It

usually takes a while to heat up and begin to

melt.)   Beeswax, gesso-like, just pure beeswax

melting on wood takes the color. Perhaps a mountain

evening gold pearlescent damar

resin, shaped by the moment into a moment of

lightning bolt survives layer after layer a landscape emerges

in a hot wax pastiche.  Waxes & resins.  Impulses & desires

gesso-like  a mountain

hike, this blue is a risk. Colors come blaring in

the rain comes out under a Satie cloud of sound emerging from above.

Not to know, to not know ahead of time

it takes a while, cloud-like then more blue to

notice, to ignore the need to know.  Only color as a

gesture in wax caught in a rare moment of NW summer mountain lightning.
