Five Thirty-Ones for Doctor Bill Mitchell

1) No word from his son for days. Upon entering the apartment, Noah’s dead at twenty-seven, heart attack. His own heart couldn’t survive the explosion which reunited Doctor Bill with the infinite.

2) In my file, his prescription for me: E, C, B-6, a multiple, kyolic, milk thistle, lay off the coffee (affects left shoulder) and daily stretches. End with savasana, the corpse pose.

3) He was a Doc Pop could relate to. Sox fan, lived in Glenview before moving to Seattle and prescribed blueberries, rich in bioflavinoids. Pop stocked his freezer with them for years.

4) On the show he talked about Elwha Dam removal. They’re still keeping salmon from the park. Michael says Bill might return as a duck with an eye like a bloody yolk.

5) We did a series called: How to Live to 120. He saw Noah dead, wasn’t halfway there, attacked by his own heart. Whatever he tried to ease by drinking’s now lifted.
